Results of SAD #37's Vote on the RSU

On November 4th, voters in SAD #37 were asked to vote on whether or not they wanted to join in an RSU (Regional School Unit), which would include the SAD #37 towns of Addison, Cherryfield, Columbia, Columbia Falls, Harrington, and Milbridge, as well as the towns of Beddington, Deblois, Beals, and Jonesport.
The SAD #37 vote was 1503 in favor of forming the RSU and 1293 opposed. The breakdown by town is as follows:
Addison--332 yes, 279 no Cherryfield--262 yes, 325 no Columbia--101 yes, 100 no Columbia Falls--155 yes, 154 no Harrington--286 yes, 175 no Milbridge--367 yes, 260 no
The town of Deblois also voted in favor of forming the RSU with a vote of 17-yes, 14-no, while Beddington voted against it with 4-yes, 23-no. Jonesport and Beals will hold their vote on November 18th. |

Anonymous writes " ON Thursday, October 30, Family Career Community Leaders of America(FCCLA) will be hosting a mock car accident for Red Ribbon Week. Starting in the morning at 8:00 some student s will be particapting in another program. Anyone who wishes to come and view may come at 10:00 to witness thiese programs. Local fire departments and ambulances have been located and will be involved with the police. This is put on through FCCLA, a student run organization, and we hope it will have an effect on you as much as it has with us." |
